Here is how we determine the best method of cleaning:

Based on this analysis, SERVPRO® of Upper Cape Cod & The Islands will recommend
one of our 5 carpet cleaning methods that are tailored to fit your own personal needs.

Furnishings in the home can be one of the biggest investments. Whether it is a brand new living room set, upholstery you have had most of your life, or a cherished heirloom that has been passed down for generations, you need expert advice on which cleaning method is best. We can clean all types of upholstered furnishings including a sofa, chairs, couch, loveseat, cushions, beds, or even mattresses. We also clean drapery panels, full draperies and curtains.

Cleaning methods for heavy stains on durable fabrics are done with waterborne cleaning agents. While this method is known as “wet” cleaning, only the face fibers are dampened and drying time is typically only a few hours. Pre-testing must be done to prevent potential color bleeding, fabric shrinkage or discoloration.

For mild wear or delicate fibers, a “dry” cleaning method is used. A light application of a solvent based cleaner is immediately extracted from the fabric. The cleaning is not as deep or thorough as the “wet” method but the fibers will be dry in only minutes. Many specialty fabrics require this type of cleaning.

While most upholstery will fall into one of these two categories, that are also specialized processes that can bridge the gap and address any unique situations.

Our trained technicians can give you the information you need to make the right decision in choosing the proper cleaning method.
